I, your humble friend and peer, have been described by some as a man of great talents... and great wrongs. Yet, I maintain that my defamation is the issue of a plot most foul, hatched by villains who would injure me only to heap shame upon my ancient name. As a sinner myself, I can smell the sin of others - I can see into the blackest of hearts; that is why I can see through these execrable miscreants, into their very souls.

I derive great comfort from knowing that I can count on the support of you, my peers, in this time that would lead lesser men to despair; it makes sense of this dark world of cruelty and disillusionment.
